HCI RoomMate LCD HD televisions are Internet Protocol Televisions (IPTVs). This means they can be networked through built-in ethernet backbones and stream digital content on-demand from a computer.
Patients can access digital movies, music, and photos from the server. In addition, Hospital staff can send messages and content to an individual patients television. HCI IPTVs do not require a separate computer at each TV or set-top box because everything is built-in.
For many disabled patients (particularly those who are paralyzed or badly burned) it is extremely difficult to operate keyboards or other controls that the rest of us take for granted. Multimodal User Interfaces (MUIs) help disabled patients operate mobile phones or other equipment in their daily life. Digital Television Transition
Your Televison Signal Has Changed!
On June 12, 2009, television switched from analog to digital. Luckily for you, BEI is a digital TV expert.
The switch from analog to digital broadcast television is referred to as the "Digital TV (DTV) Transition." In 1996, the U.S. Congress authorized the distribution of an additional broadcast channel to each broadcast TV station so that they could start a digital broadcast channel while simultaneously continuing their analog broadcast channel.
Recently, responding to a request from the Obama administration, Congress set June 12, 2009 as the final date that full-power local television stations could broadcast in analog only. The switch was made at 12:00 am on June 12th, 2009.
If you DO NOT receive programming from an over-the-air antenna, if you have a digital televison or if you have DIRECTV®, you DO NOT have to worry about losing programming.
